ABOUT ME

I am a board certified psychiatrist practicing in Chapel Hill, NC. I attended medical school at the University of Louisville and completed a psychiatry residency at The University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. I offer psychotherapy and medication services to patients in a confidential and supportive environment. I am committed to providing individualized treatment to help my patients heal and thrive. I believe mental health care can greatly improve quality of life, making us more self aware, compassionate, at ease, and fulfilled.

I am a relational psychodynamic therapist. This type of psychotherapy focuses on going beneath the surface so that deeper insights emerge and lasting change can begin to be made. It explores such themes as how strategies that were crucial to surviving a period of your life may now be causing dysfunction. It looks at why relationships aren’t functioning in the way that you want, or why you’re having a hard time finding fulfillment and a sense of purpose in life. Therapy helps uncover longstanding coping strategies and relationship patterns that are causing distress so that healthier, more life enhancing skills can be developed.

My work is trauma and attachment informed. I have a special interest in working with women, healthcare and mental health professionals, and LGBTQ+ clients.
